Active Seal Plaster Cast Cover
for swimming pools and bathing

For broken legs and fractured arms

Some of our patients unfortunately suffer from a broken arm or leg and Active Seal protective covers are excellent at keeping a plaster cast or bandage dry when swimming, showering or bathing. The Active Seal cover is suitable for swimming because it maintains a waterproof and watertight seal. Most patients have no idea that they can get these waterproof protectors. So now you know, you can!

Alternative product - if you have a bandage or cast which you need to keep dry in the shower only, then the sealtight showerproof protector might be more suitable and it is certainly easier for elderly people to put on and take off. The showerproof protector cannot be used for swimming unlike the Active Seal covers.

Active Seal plaster cast cover for arms

Active Seal Waterproof Plaster Cast Protector for arms and legs. The cover easily stretches over your plaster cast or bandage making a watertight seal which means you can swim in the sea or the swimming pool knowing your cast or bandage will stay completely dry.

To keep your plaster cast or bandage dry for swimming you need to wear the Active Seal Waterproof Plaster Cast Cover over your bandage or plaster cast and your cast or bandage will stay completely dry.

Active Seal Plaster Cast Covers are available in different sizes to cover legs or arms.

Buying the Correct Size
Take Some Measurements

Arm or Leg - Measure around the arm or leg to get the circumference
Measuring arm circumference for cast cover fitting
Measure the circumference

Measure around your arm or leg immediately above the plaster cast. If the end of the plaster cast is near the elbow or knee measure mid arm or measure mid thigh.

NOTE: Don't measure around the cast, measure around the skin.

Arm or Leg - Measure the length

Measure the length

Measure the length of the plaster cast. The cover you choose must be longer than this measurement. It doesn't matter if the cast cover is much longer than this.

Putting on the Active Seal Plaster Cast Cover

Step 1
Slide the cover on
Active Seal Swimming Cast Cover
Stretch and pull on - easy to fit

Stretch and pull the cover on over the cast or bandage. The cover should completely cover the cast or bandage plus a bit more. Take care not to rip the material by pulling the cover on too roughly. It may be a good idea to cover the cast with a light sock to protect the cover

Step 2
Make sure the cover is secure and start swimming

With normal usage the cover should last for about 3-4 weeks.

"plaster cast stays completely dry"

You are back from hospital with your fractured wrist, arm, ankle or leg and a plaster cast. The plaster cast has to stay on for several weeks and you mustn't get it wet. Problem - how do you keep yourself clean? Have you ever tried showering with one arm out of the way of the water jet? Have you ever had to take a bath with one leg out of the water? It's almost impossible.

The Active Seal cover is the answer to your problem. It works by stretching the elasticated material over your arm or leg to make a watertight seal and you can shower and wash as normal. Have a look below for details how to measure what size you need and how to order online for fast delivery.
